Save the Date for the Third Annual PVTRA Spring Benefit Horse Show

The Pioneer Valley Therapeutic Riding Association has announced the date for the Third Annual Spring Benefit Horse Show. The show will take place on Sunday, May 22nd, 2011 at Muddy Brook Farm in Amherst, MA.

The PVTRA Spring Benefit Horse Show is set to be a great season opener to get horse and rider ready for the 2011 show season. The show offers hunter and jumper classes ranging from leadline to hunter over fences at a range of heights. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded for classes and divisions. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

26th Annual Candace E. Dixon Memorial Ride-a-Thon

Our annual ride to benefit the Pioneer Valley Therapeutic Riding Association will be on Sunday, October 10th. It will once again take place at the Swift River Sportsman’s Club on Moore Road in Belchertown. Proceeds from this event will help provide horseback riding lessons for children and adults with disabilities. Riders and walkers are welcome.

Our annual ride to benefit the Pioneer Valley Therapeutic Riding Association will be on Sunday, October 10th. It will once again take place at the Swift River Sportsman’s Club on Moore Road in Belchertown. Proceeds from this event will help provide horseback riding lessons for children and adults with disabilities. Riders and walkers are welcome.

The ride will take place rain or shine. The parking area opens at 8:00 AM. Registration and refreshments open at 8:30 AM. Participants can begin leaving before 9:00 AM if they wish to avoid the Turkey Shoot taking place the same day. There will be a 15-mile and a 3-mile marked trail. Riders choosing the 15-mile ride should leave by 10:00 AM to be back in time for the chicken dinner being prepared for all participants (let us know if you are a vegetarian).

Mark your calendars:  Sunday, September 19, 2010 Pioneer Valley Therapeutic Riding Association is holding their first annual Benefit Golf Tournament at the Mill Valley Golf Links in Belchertown, MA.  There will be prizes and raffle items to win. The Grand Prize for the Raffle will be a set of Custom Fitted Callaway Diablo Golf Clubs.  Steve Lewis Subaru of Northampton has donated a brand new Subaru to be given away for a hole in one.  For registration forms and details, please check the Events page.

Fun Day at PVTRA Second Annual Spring Benefit Horse Show

he Pioneer Valley Therapeutic Riding Association held its Second Annual Spring Benefit Horse Show on Saturday, May 22, 2010. Muddy Brook Farm in Amherst, MA hosted the event. The exciting day was a huge success earning over $7,500 for the support and future of the program. Hunter / Jumper competitors had a great time and took home tons of prizes generously donated by our sponsors. While the day was filled with competition, there was also a raffle table and food booth with proceeds directly benefiting the program. Please read the rest of the article for pictures and details.
